Meet Coach Bill
Bill Smith is a Certified Sherpa Executive Coach through Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with three decades of executive leadership experience and now in his sixth year of executive coaching.
He has studied with the authors of The Sherpa Guide and continues to serve as mentor coach to Sherpa coaches in training. In addition, Bill is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives, member of the International Coach Federation (Central Ohio Chapter), certified facilitator for Extended DISC behavioral assessment, and an adjunct faculty instructor for Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.
Coach Bill has been CEO of two Ohio hospitals, a consultant in the health care industry, and an owner of two small business companies. He has organizational and business expertise in not-for-profit, governmental and for-profit organizations. Throughout his career he has mentored, coached and consulted with business professionals, executives and entrepreneurs.
Bill has served on numerous boards, including: statewide with Leadership Ohio, Marion's Community Area New Development Organization, two local community leadership programs, and two 501(c)(3) foundations. He is currently on the board of an organization for the developmentally disabled. He is an active member with the Central Ohio Chapter of the ICF and past treasurer of their board of directors. Bill received the 2006 Sherpa of the Year Award; and, by working with others, the Ohio Partnership for Excellence Award (Tier II); the Governor's Workforce Excellence Award; and, Marion Ohio's Distinguished Citizen's Award.
Coach Bill has a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration from Xavier University and a Masters Degree in Education, with specialization in guidance and counseling, from Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. He is a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
